Terms & Conditions for the "Me Inc. Developer Challenge" Program:

The SCO Group, Inc. ("SCO") is announcing a program whereby SCO is investing in SCO's new Me Inc. development platform. In an effort to accelerate the education and development on this new development platform, SCO is offering the "Me Inc. Developer Challenge" program that will run from August 9th - February 9th, 2007. The program will offer a new BMW M5 or $100,000 USD to the winner of the program. Participants must meet the following criteria and abide by the program rules:
  1. To participate in the Me Inc. Developer Challenge, you must be at least 18 years old. Employees and contractors of SCO and members of their immediate families are not eligible to enter.
  2. Eligible participants are not required to attend SCO Forum 2006 to enter the Me Inc. Developer Challenge.
  3. Participants must use the Me Inc. Toolkit provided by SCO.
  4. The final product must be submitted to SCO no later than close of business on Thursday, February 9th, 2007.
  5. The final product must be commercially saleable, as determined solely by the Evaluation Committee, and eligible for sale via SCO's www.me-inc.com portal.
  6. You must be a qualified developer with experience in the .Net and Java development platforms, having developed on those platforms. You must be able to demonstrate proficiency with these platform languages.
  7. The program must be native to the Me Inc. development platform.
  8. The SCO Group reserves the right to limit this program to applicants it deems are qualified and may modify or terminate the promotion without any notification.
  9. The winner will be determined by SCO via a two part evaluation process: 1) evaluation from the Evaluation Committee which is comprised of qualified developers and business professionals chosen by SCO which evaluate its marketability and market appeal; and 2) a vote of popularity via an online vote of peers, professionals, and others as deemed appropriate by SCO. The decision of SCO is final.
  10. If you are selected as the winner, you agree that SCO may publicize your name, likeness, and a description of work you did to win. Apart from the prize associated with being selected as the winner, SCO shall not be obligated to compensate you in ant way for such publicity.
  11. With regard to software that you obtain from SCO for the Me Inc. Developer Challenge, you agree to the license terms provided with the software.
  12. Each participant shall indemnify, defend, and hold SCO harmless from any third party claims arising from or related to that participant's participation in the Me Inc. Developer Challenge. In no event shall SCO be liable to a participant for acts or omissions arising out of or related to the Me Inc. Developer Challenge or that participant's participation in the Me Inc. Developer Challenge.
  13. If SCO determines that a participant was fraudulent in any way SCO reserves the right to eliminate the participant from the contest.
  14. The award money will be paid out within eight weeks of the announcement of the winner. If the winner chooses to receive the BMW M5, SCO reserves the right to select the dealer, options, and model type. Any taxes, fees, or licensing fees due for either the cash or car prizes are the sole responsibility of the recipient.
